How to Dress Like it's 1969 Without Looking Ridiculous

Happy Monday! It's definitely been a slow moving day for me... Really lived up to the "work hard play hard" mantra this weekend. Just another reminder that I'm not 21 anymore haha.

So I'm taking a quick break before my last post from my collab with La Femme Chic (See Part 1 & Part 2) to share a look that I actually shot a few weeks ago, but hadn't posted yet! Some of me is really in to the return of the late 60s early 70s trend, and the other wishes it would go away. I'm looking at you flared jeans. Clearly going full on Woodstock isn't for me, so finding a way to incorporate the trend with inspired pieces was the goal.

Here is the breakdown: (see end of post for links to items)

Trendy elements: jean skirt / studded bag with fringe / tie-front top

Modern elements: long vest / tall boots / sporty red tinted sunglasses

By framing the trendy top and jean skirt with a modern sleek vest it tones down the obvious nod to the festival lifestyle. Now if you want to fully embrace the style or look like you're headed to Coachella then go for a suede jacket with fringe on either the sleeves or back. My favorite trendy piece in this look is the suede studded bag! The design is different than anything I've ever seen; definitely a stand-out piece that goes with everything!
