Recently I found myself in Forever 21 (crazy I know), despite attempting to avoid malls altogether because of the Christmas rush. Unlike my usual visits I wasn't looking for anything in particular, in fact I was helping a friend pick out a gift for her Mom.
Suddenly I was struck by this grey sweater dress. Pulling it off the rack I gave it the good ol' look up and down, squint one eye like you're really analyzing whether its shape would work with your own. After putting it back and walking away, I quickly returned and thought what the heck, might as well try!
Obviously the dressing room try-on went swimmingly because here it is gracing my blog! More importantly, this dress is a physical reminder that it's always worth giving an a-typical piece a go! Now I'm obsessed with this dress and constantly configuring it with different jackets and coats in my wardrobe. I'm betting it might be one of my most versatile pieces.
For this look I wanted to play with monochromatic tones paired with luxe pieces. Finally the weather was cool enough to debut my absolute favorite coat from All Saints that I scored while in London last winter. It's a piece I cherish because of its quality and ties to many fond travel memories. Also, the chain detail on these Jeffrey Campbell boots are everything! For me it takes a typical suede boot to the next level.
Finally, how amazingly beautiful are these images?!
