"I shall take the heart.
For brains do not make one happy,
And happiness is the
Best thing in the world."
- L. Frank Baum, The Wizard of Oz
Ah, happiness. One of life’s greatest quests, so much so its pursuit is embedded in our inalienable rights.
But what if happiness can’t be found while in its pursuit, but rather through life’s little moments, and the people who fill them up.
I find enduring happiness in the friendships and relationships I foster.
And much like Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, I need these friendships to help navigate my life’s own yellow brick road.
So often the path unknown. The way unpleasant. The destination though, brings you to a place you never dreamed possible.
Many personal twists and turns have led me to where I am today, and gave me friendships I hold dearest.
Along my yellow brick road I met Diana (Queen Horsfall) while living in South Korea, and we’ve become the best of friends and travel buddies. Then in the last year I met this photoshoot’s photographer and MUA respectively, Andrew and Claire Arceri, who’ve become some of my closest friends.
All of us from different backgrounds and far flung places were able to come together through the magic of this thing called life to create the dreamiest photoshoot atop Salvation Mountain.
My mind blows every time I think about it!
Salvation Mountain is this stunning oasis of spirituality and beauty in the middle of nowhere California. When the sun's rays set over the horizon the artwork truly comes to life.
Hues of blue and fierce yellow and neon orange colors spring forth everywhere you look, evoking the complete essence of spring.
And what better way to be one with the surrounding than to transform into a desert spring nymph? Can't think of one!
Flower crowns and beautiful flowing floral dresses from Lulus were the perfect accent to our dream-like world, and adventure along the yellow brick road.
Step into our world and enjoy the imagery we created, which brought us untold happiness and inspiration. It was indeed the "best thing in the world."
